There are several museums and palaces in and around Madrid that give EU citizens free entry at times. Do they require seeing your passport to establish you're a EU citizen? In the UK we don't have proper ID cards and I'm not sure my driving license proves I'm a EU citizen. I'd prefer not to carry my passport around with me if I can help it, but might have to if I want a freebie. Can anyone help on this?
Also I've noticed some of the Spanish attractions websites don't seem to have the means to have them translated into English (usually a website that foreign people will view, have flag icons or an abbreviation - e.g. 'EN' for English - to translate the page into another language, but I can't see this on some of the websites. Am I missing something or is this the case?
Thanks for your help.
