Murcia, Torrevieja or Las Alcazares?

Hi Everyone!

We're taking a road trip this summer, leaving from Barcelona in just 3 weeks! Most of the reservations are made, except for the last few days.

On the seventeenth we're leaving Alicante. We have 1 more night to spend somewhere. Would you recommend Murcia (I heard it's a beautiful city), Torrevieja (johnsayers wrote a post about promenades, piers and fun faits!) or Las Alcazares (I've seen beautiful pictures of Mar Menor).

On the 18th we have to be in Elche, where we're spending two nights at the Huerto del Cura. The 19th is our anniversary (1 year married!)

Thanks,

Ivy

IMHO, Murcia is a rather boring city, Torrevieja is ugly and Los Alcázares is nice. My vote for Los Alcázares or San Pedro del Pinatar.

LA is very English, as is Torrevieja. I would say Murcia city just for one day - the square with it's catherdral is very nice. There are several cafes/restaurants in the square where you can have a nice meal and just watch the world go by.

Torrevieja, :- working class Northerners with football jerseys, earings and tatoos,

LA, a tad more sofisticated.

Murcia, worth a day out,

Cartegena, more interesting with a maritime twist.
