Water park, things to do

I am off to the Polaris World resort on the Mar Menor in August. What is there to do in the area? What worth a visit?

Whats the resort like, bars / pools etc??

Also whats the water park like nearby?

Does anywhere do discount tickets?

Any help is appreciated.

I don't know the resort (visited once to have a look thats all).

As for the area, as long as you are hiring a car, you will find plenty of lovely places. Cartagena is a lovely city - drive to the port and park in the underground car park. There are bars / restaurants on the port, then cross the road and walk around the city - shops, castle, roman theatre etc. There is a tourist bus and a tourist boat too. www.discoveringcartagena.com

There are lovely beaches all along the Mar Menor.

As for the Water Park - I haven't been yet as it only opened last year I believe, but the web-site is www.terranatura.com

Hope this helps

There's a waterpark in Torrevieja which tends to be used quite a lot by the Spanish, or another one in Rojales a bit further on. Terranatura is in Benidorm which would be about a 2 hr drive on the motorway.

Murcia or Cartagena would be your two nearest cities, both of which are full of bars/restaurants and shops.

Some of the restaurants in Las Habeneras, Torrevieja have discount tickets for Benidorm theme parks, as do plenty of places in Benidorm itself.

Just to update the previous persons post.

There is a terranatura in Benidorm, but there is a new one very near Murcia city, a new one. If you have a look on the web-site I gave previously, you will see both.

We stayed in Mar Menor Polaris World last Ocober and really liked it - going again this year!!!

The resort is very clean, feels very safe and when we went was very quiet.

Our villa had a private pool, but there is a lovely communal pool in the resort centre.

There are several restaurant and bars on the resort but we prefered to go into nearby Los Alcazares - more choice and better value we felt.

We were happy to spend most days by the pool, but did visit Cartegena which is well worth a visit.

We also spent a day at Terra Natura in Murcia which was about 25 minute drive and was a good day out - enjoyed greatly by our kids 14, 10 and 7.

Terra Natura has a both an animal park and a water park.It is a fairly small water park but good fun.

Hope this helps.

there are water parks in both murcia and torrecvieja aswell as one in benidorm.

the beach at los alcazares is fantastic too with losts of water sports and very safe.

we have a 2 bed penthouse in Roda Golf & Beach Resort, which we let out, next to Los alcazares.

the website is www.roda.250x.com for details, pics, and contact info.
