There is rail service from San Sebastian-Donostia, but it takes a few hours. You can check out the PESA and Movelia websites for bus information.

movelia.es/transicion_launion/ventaen.htm#

To Donostia – San Sebastian:

Bus #6 from the airport to the center of Biarritz, every 20 min.

Biarritz – San Sebastian bus line, PESA company, phone: (+ 34) 902 10 12 10. Departure point next to the Biarritz Tourist Office.

It's not unusual for the buses to be full when waiting this long to make a reservation. This is fiesta and there are thousands of people who travel everyday by bus and train to Pamplona.

You can try Conda to see what they have. They have two routes that go from San Sebastian-Donostia to Pamplona.

after looking at both sites its getting little frustrating. There are only a few busses a day, and there will be a lot of waiting in between stops. I also put in a random date in August to see if it was avaialable and i got the same message for the dates in July during San Fermin. Do u know of a cheap rent a car website other than hertz on ryanair's website? its pretty expensive thru them.

You can check Kemwel (http://www.kemwel.com), Europcar (http://www.europcar.com/) and National Atesa (http://www.atesa.es).

Most rental car companies require a three-day minimum rental. Avis does a one-day (very expensive).

We booked the train running from IRUN to PAMPLONA on July 9th . IRUN seems a little closer to Biarritz than San Sebastian. Booked thru RailEurpoe on an SNCF train.

Irun is in Spain, a few minutes up the coast from Donostia-San Sebastian.

It's interesting that you booked an SNCF ticket through Rail Europe rather than a Renfe ticket. To my knowledge, the only SNCF train that crosses the border at Hendaye-Irun is the international train that goes to Madrid through Victoria (País Vasco).

The morning train from Irun to Pamplona is a Talgo and it's 15.60 EUR for a one-way, tourist class ticket. The trip takes two hours. I hope you didn't pay more than that.

from looking at the timetable it seems the last train to pamplona from irun on fri 10 july 2009 is at 1620. Our flight lands in Biarritz at 1515 so may be tight.

Are there any later travel options to Pamplona?

Regards
