Well, got back on Wednesday and wish we were still there!
Didn't get off to a good start as our minibus taking us to Edinburgh Airport never turned up! Was booked for 3.15am and by 4am we still couldn't locate him! There was 19 of us so we all had to get a plan B and thankfully made it to the airport in time.
Stayed in Mediterraneo Hotel once again and as usual it was spot on. Food and drink great, lovely weather, fantastic rooms etc. The only thing that is not great is the evening entertainment but as we were a large party we made our own and then headed out later on.
As always we found The Tropical, Rachaels and Rock n Roll Bar very handy and saw some great acts on - and also enjoyed our nights in town seeing Carnaby Street, Cabeytu Brothers and Albi Senior to name a few.
The guys used Friends bar next to Rachaels to catch up on sport and the younger ones partied all night in the square.
We visited Albir and had cocktails watching the world go by. Think the bar was called Coco-Loco and cocktails were fabby!
We only started using the bus service recently and find it so handy, easy and cheap...how can our services at home not be like this ?
Whilst waiting at a bus stop one day we saw the pea-men set up, it was amazing how big their gang was, including a couple in their 60's. Saw people getting pulled in but it was hard to know who was part of the gang to be honest.
Next thing - the lookout guys roared and a moped mounted the pavement, a guy jumped off and grabbed and seemingly headbutted the main guy - held him up against the wall and took all money out his pockets, the rest ot the gang dispersed.
We thought it was undercover policemen as they were writing in a notebook but we weren't sure if they were part of the scam as other members of the gang who had ran all seemed to come back..anyone know if it was real?
Anyway - We had a great time, there's just something about Benidorm, we always feel like it's home...maybe someday eh?
