i withdrew €250 a couple of days ago using my santandar cash card ( not debit card) at the santandar on calle getona, it only gave me 1.18 and then charged me £3,40 charges as well

Definately need to upgrade my card when i get back ad i was expecting about 1.23

Did you say that you accepted the conversion Mark or the euro option? It can make a difference. That sounds like a poor rate and charges as well... That's a shame. You need to get a caxton card Mark.. They're really good.

Great rate Mazza, they're offering 1.23 on our high street

Unfortunately that's where you've slipped up, never accept the conversion, it's always lower.

No point crying over spilt milk though eh?? You're having a good time so that's all that matters.

Yes I think the pre paid cards are the way forward, I was impressed with mine that I got through Easyjet. Always take the euro option, it is nothing more than a scam trying to get you to pay in sterling, all you are doing is buying euros then selling them back and they make money out of you twice
