Florence train station?

Does anyone know about how far it is from the train station in Florence to the Relais Piazza Signoria? We'll be there in a couple weeks, and I'm trying to get my bearings. Are taxis readily available? About how long should it take to get between the two places?

Thanks.

Florence central station is in the city centre. Piazza Signoria is "the" square in Florence, and it is actually a 15-minute walk from the station. WIth luggage etc. a taxi is certainly better; plenty of them just outside the station. It should not take more than 5-10 minutes, traffic permitting.

have a nice day.

Great; thanks. With luggage, the taxi is the way to go? Is there a metro as well? We will be heading back to the train station the next day, minus the luggage, to head off to Viareggio for the day.
