Skiing in Trentino

Am planning to stay in Trento for 5 nights in Feb 2012 & would like help in finding the best places to ski, we enjoy red runs but do not want anything too difficult as we have not skied for a couple of years.

We have a car & do not mind travelling around a bit, we will need to hire skis somewhere close to Trento but have our own boots. Any tips on lift passes & suggestions on ski areas would be appreciated.

Well can be at various palces in little over an hour.

First of all Val di Sole

Consider Folgarida/Madonna di Campiglio

Other large ski area is to head towards the Val di Fassa

If you drive as far as Canazei you can link into the Sella Ronda circuit and ski over to Val Gardena

Smaller area At Predazzo and the Val di Fiemme

Delightful Canazei and the Sella Ronda circuit over the Passo Pordoi to Arabba or over the Passo Sella to the Val Gardena is wonderful!

Just skied in folgarida with my family and had a great time, not too difficult, but connected to other resorts when you find your feet. We stayed in a hotel there, but it is only about 1 hour from Trento. I am sure there are buses too. Easy to hire equipment near the car park in folgarida.

Thank you very much for your help, Is there 1 ski pass that covers all areas & and do you need a photo for the ski pass?

j2ski.com/ski_resorts/Italy/Folgarida.html

http://www.folgarida.it/

This may help, especially the j2ski site.

The ski pass we purchased covered folgarida and Marilleva, cannot remember what the extent the the ticket covers. I think it covers Malghet too. On the ski map ( http://www.ski.it/uploads/media/SKIMAP_01.pdf ) you can check the runs included.

Re tickets, I think you only need a photo for greater than 5 days?? The photo is routine and they have a booth there.
