There are several rental sites for agriturismo rentals. Do you have an area in mind?

This could get you started. http://www.agriturismo.net/

I can recommend http://www.agricolalavalle.it/

Michael,

First you have to pick an area of Tuscany. This may give you some ideas slowtrav.com/italy/tuscany/hs_planning.htm

Thank you for the information re house/apartment rental sites. Together with 2 or 3 other women, I'm planning to rent a place in tuscany for a week in April 2014.

the links will be very helpful but I'm not sure where to locate us.

We'll rent a car and will be mobile, want to walk, roam, taste and visit wineries. Afterwards, we want to wend our way westward to Milan. Is Cinque Terra too far (we're not afraid of driving distances) ?

I'll look at Rick Steves etc but rely on TA advisors for their beneficial and on spot in put.

Thanks much for jump start.
