Itinerary from Milan to Venice through Lake Region

We are flying to Milan and need to end up in Venice for a cruise. We have 3 to 4 days to get there and want to spend some time in the Lake Region but not sure of what we should do or how much we can accomplish. I would appreciate suggestions you may have for an itinerary.

You could stop at Iseo lake and Verona with the train. Off Verona there is a new hotel, Villa Cordevigo, a short distance from Lake Garda and the Valpolicella wine region. The hotel organises transfers as well..

If you decide to drive, We would reach the verona area via Riva del Garda.

I should have said that we are renting a car at the Milan airport. We have been to Verona before so hope to concentrate on the lakes. Thanks for your suggestion. Will look into them.
