Dolomites in autumn

Hi

Can anyone suggest the best location or region in the Dolomites for a 5 day stay. We'd like to do some walking and enjoying the mountain experience. Considering weather this time of year we don't want to be driving too high??Thank you.

"Autumn" is a concept a bit vague: in Italy it runs since 21 September troughout 21 December. Then in the Dolomites the nature of what you can do changes very much: at the beginning there is still summer-like tourism, at the end of the period ski slopes are open.

For an intermediate period as the first half of October, and for one of the most attractive regions for tourism in both summer and winter - the Val Gardena - this recent topic is useful:
