Florence for one day

We would like advice about spending 1 day in Florence. We are staying in Castelina in Chianti and will have a rental car. Looking at taking a train or bus to Florence, not driving to the city. We are a bit overwhelmed in considering how to organize our day. We are happy to get an early start and return early evening. Any suggestions:

1. Where to catch bus or train

2. Planning day

3. Want to see the dome, David, Academia for sure

Firenze S.M. Novella is the train and bus station.

This link is from the Florence Forum "One Day": tripadvisor.com/Travel-g187895-c148104/Flore…

Go to the Florence Forum and look to the right, the links on how to book the Accademia is there. Also, there's a information about the Museums and Churches (Duomo info is there too).

You have a few choices from Castellina for visiting Florence. You can drive to Greve, then park your car in the city lot(free) near the bus stop then take the SITA bus into Florence.

You can drive your car to the Florence airport(mostly superhighway) then park in the airport long term lot and take the bus or taxi to the train station in Florence. From here you can walk all over Florence.

Be sure to purchase your SITA bus tickets in advance since you are leaving early in the morning and the shops which sell the tickets in Greve may not be open then.

If you want to visit the museums such as Accadamia or Uffizi then prebook online your visit for a particular time of day. Florence is a walking city so much can be seen in a small area of the center. Tickets for the dome and tower can be purchased at the site,
