Hi

It is a long drive either way. Most direct route.

I drove down to Grotteria last year and this was the a nice drive.

Ancona to Brindsi then the E-90 south to Bianco. You are driving coastal road all the way.

Hi, Philfhy,

with which means of transport do you want to travel?

You could get a flight from Rome to Reggio Calabria or Lamezia Terme:

http://www.airmalta.com/homepage

http://www.flyairone.it/en/

and then rent a car to drive to Bianco. 74km 1h 30min from Reggio. 144km, 2h 30min from Lamezia.

You could just take the train from Rome/Ancona to Bianco:

http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html

Rome to Bianco takes about 8 or 9 hours and 1 change of train.

If you decide to drive from Rome motorway A1 to Naples, A30 Naples to Salerno, A3 Salerno to Lamezia Terme, then head to the east coast and follow south on the SS106 Jonica. Rome to Bianco 720km.
