Honeymoon Oct 24-Nov 4th: Amalfi Coast weather and closings?

We would love to go to Italy for our honeymoon Oct 24-Nov 4th. We were originally thinking of Rome and the Amalfi Coast, but we have been discouraged from the Amalfi Coast and Capri due to weather and seasonal closings. Is this accurate?Any other ideas of a non-city we could combine with Rome for a relaxing time in a beautiful part of the country? Any ideas would be appreciated. Hotel recommendations also welcome! Thanks!

I suggest you the B&B Castello di Ripa D'Orcia in Tuscany very close to beautiful places like Pienza, Montalcino, Montepulciano, and the B&B Madonna delle Grazie in Citt della Pieve ( Umbria) close to Perugia.

From personal experience at that time of year I can say that the weather can be more variable at that time of year on the Amalfi coast, but it will probably still be fairly good. No guarantee it will be any better further north.

Seasonal closings will be an issue, but will probably be the same in some of the other non-city areas. The impact will be less if you go to one of the bigger resorts/towns such as Amalfi or Sorrento.

It is a lovely area and would be easier to enjoy when quieter. Just think - at least you won't have to share it with the masses and have to endure excessive heat.

If you visited the Amalfi Coast at the beginning of your trip and ended in Rome you would probably be fine. The resorts typically close in November.
