Train from Rome to Naples with Baggage

How difficult is it to travel by train from Rome Airport to Naples, then Sorrento with Baggage ?(one normal suitcase on rollers and one carry-on case with rollers)

Not that difficult provided you can lift the luggage up the train steps and place in overhead rack (provided it will fit). Not sure what dimensions a "normal" suitcase you have. : )

Normal is a LARGE Duffel on Wheels. (enough for a three week trip) Is there Porter Service?

Many thanks for the info

I would not expect porter service. I am doing the same train from Rome to Naples BUT I only travel with one small rolling suitcase + a large tote bag.

You would be surprised how little one really needs, even for 3 weeks!!

Our family of 4 traveled by train from Rome to Naples, each with a 26" hardside suitcase on wheels, and had no problems fitting them in the overhead compartments.

We also travel with just 26 inch rolling bags....one for each member of the family and everyone handles their own bag. Getting a LARGE bag onto a train (then onto the overhead rack) would be really tough. Hope you have strong arms! Once you're on the circumvesuviana train from Naples to Sorrento the baggage area is very small (in the area between cars as you get on) and your bags would fill it. So there is a high likelihood you'd end up standing on the train holding onto your bag.

Take less! Travel light!
