unfortunatly night life in Positano is very quiet. A night on Capri is a must after all the tourists have gone away. A night in Sorrento dancing the night away under the stars at the 'Foreigners Club' or a 'Neopolitain Show' can be very enjoyable. A night in Naples! well would you like to spend a night in 'Hackney'?
Thanks for the advice Mike.
naples is not like hackney - it is like any other big metropolis with areas good and bad. if it were like hackney mike why would there be scores and scores of guide books to this beautiful city, eh?
but ned if you are worried about the "hustle" in positano, then there'll be even more hustle in a big city... everywhere easily accessible will be busy as it's easter. perhaps for a quieter time i could recommend furore - not far from amalfi (but again not sure if it'll be that quiet over easter - but it's certainly much less foreign touristy).
Thanks for all your comments. It looks like wit will be 4 nights in positano for us simply because that was by far the easiest to organise but a day trip to ravello, capri and to pompeii will spice things up.
