Proper beach beach toddler safe

Hello will be in in Sorrento for a family wedding , are there any actual Beach areas with sandy beaches? that are toddler safe? ive found places that say beach/beach club but not what i would class as beaches or beach clubs

so looking for a family friendly beach with sand and sea you can paddle in just walking out to from the sand is there anything like this in sorrento itself? or would we need to go some where else?

Hi

There are two coarse-pebble beaches in Sorrento at the Marina Grande and Leonelli's Beach.

Other than that, the island of Ischia has sandy beaches and there is a ferry from Sorrento. Meta has a sandy beach and there is a train from Sorrento but only you can decide if they are safe for a toddler.

Leonelli's Beach is not a beach, but the name of a beach club at San Francesco beach. I agree that it's decentish spot.

I too would consider Meta, Lido Marinella and Lido Metamare being the main beach clubs there.

Sorrento's small main beaches are around the harbors where there is a lot of boat or ferry traffic and restaurants. People use the beaches there, but they are as Eddie described.

Hi

Ischia is great for beaches but Leonelli's Beach at Marina Piccola in Sorrento is coarse-pebble with some real sand but not much.

My photo album below shows some of Ischia, Sorrento and the area. The 5th photo down shows Leonelli's Beach with people walking into the sea and paddling so it's shallow. It can be pricey and Ischia might be a better bet. Move your cursor onto each pic to see where it was taken in bottom left.
