Guidance on Ferries Please

I am arriving in Sorrento on Friday for seven days. I have been looking at the ferries website, at Metro Del Mare for instance. Can you get the ferry from Sorrento to Amalfi have a wonder around and get the ferry back to Positano get off the ferry at Positano again have a look round and get the ferry back to Sorrento? Looking at the timetable at the timetable the ferry leaves Sorrento at 9.25 arrives at Amalfi at 10.25 the next stopping one back to Sorrento which allows time in Amalfi is at 15.45. Is that correct?

Does that mean I would be better off visiting Positano and Amalfi on different days?

Many thanks for your assistance.

1. Re: Guidance on Ferries Please

If you check my previous posts I have given a trip report using this ferry to Salerno (which will answer some of your questions).

Personally, I would use the ferry to and from Amalfi and visit Positano on a different day via open top bus, which is a great excursion.

If you do Positano seperately, then as in my previous post, I would further recommend the 7.30 ferry to salerno, have some time there and then catch the ferry to Amalfi for some time before returning to Sorrento. That way you will get to see the entire Amalfi coast as well as a typical Italian town with the biggest seafront boulevard in Italy.

Many thanks for taking the trouble to reply. I have read your report which certainly gave me some good ideas.
