Realistic coach transfer time from airport to Sorrento

Hi, I'm hoping to find a realistic time that it takes from Naples Airport into Sorrento on a coach transfer (Thomsons). Some brochures say 2 hours, some say more! Were looking at the Minerva Hotel which seems central but not sure if anyone knows of any hotels which are dropped off first?

Any info much appreciated! Thanks

It very much depends on the trraffic, it is a busy route, Thompson usually have several coaches, doing the transfers, going to the different parts,

It does take about two hours by coach transfer. The Michelangelo Hotel is centrally located if you are looking for other hotel suggestions. Hope this helps.

Its about an hour and a half. The Minerva will probably be the same route as the Capodimonte, Bristol etc. As Sophie said it depends on traffic. If its in the evening its generally a little quieter leaving Naples. Be prepared to wait ages for your luggage at the airport, they're not the quickest. Generally it takes me 2 hours overall after landing to get to the hotel in Sorrento, the most its ever been is 2 and a half altogether.

Traffic & road conditions vary depending on time of day the roads are very congested and become ever more very tight and winding as you get closer to Sorrento. Our outbound flight from Glasgow landed mid evening on Friday and the transfer took 75 minutes or so, we got into our hotel just after 10pm.

Also the one way system on the tight streets once you get into Sorrento adds greatly to the total time it takes to drop off and pick up from hotels.

The Minerva is on the far side of town so your transfer is likely to be longer.

Be aware Naples airport is in a somewhat chaotic state at the moment due to major refurbishment.

Just to add the Thompsons/First Choice team at the airport & resort are very much on the ball and will make every effort to see your transfer runs smoothly.

We looked at the Minerva and found it way too far out of town instead we used the Hotel Grand De la Ville because it is both close to town (in particular the Circumvesuviana train station and bus station) but still has excellent views of the Bay of Naples ans Vesuvius.

We can recommend this hotel without reservation, not sure if would recommend Sorrento though ---- the town is way over rated compared to the resorts Italian Lakes. However it is worth the visit for Herculaneum, Pompey and Vesuvius alone.

Hello

Hmmm - difficult one this - on a good day with normal traffice and straight to your hotel - 3 hours ish. On a bad day, like there has been a football match coinciding with your arrival in Naples, or the end of the working day, anything up to 5 hours. Also dependant on who on the coach is staying where and being dropped off first. Traffic can be pretty bad coming into Sorrento since the road is narrow and two way.
