Royal/Ambasciatori swimming platforms

I am looking to book a hotel in sorrento in late June and would like to be near to sorrento centre and have access to the sea. The hotel grand royal and grand hotel ambasciatori look as though they will fit the bill. I just wondered whether they charged guests for sunbeds or access to the swimming platform and also if there is a reason to choose one over the other, apart from price!!

Thanks for help

Well we love, love the Royal!

Have visited the Ambasciatori a couple of times and is a bit further out of town with a smaller swimming pool than the Royal.

Royal does not charge for sunbeds, towels either at the pool or bathing platform - sure the Ambasciatori doesn't nowadays either.

Everything on your doorstep at the Royal as is just a short walk to the main Piazza Tasso.

Nice English speaking staff. Excellent poolside lunchtime snack bar.

Stunning views of Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples.

We book a full sea view room which comes at a premium. Non sea view rooms are situated over a busy road - same at the Ambasciatori - but those views are available to everyone from the public areas!

Like I said, we just love the Royal and have lost count of the number of times we have stayed there over the past 15 years or so!
