Two days on the Amalfi coast

My wife and me are in Sorrento between January 18-20, 2014. On January 18th, we shalla rrive in Sorrento only at 11 30 am. We ahve the whole day of January 19th for our disposal.

We are torn between the possibilities. We wish to do a tour of the Amalfi coast and also to visit Capri. On the Amalfi coast, we want to see Positano (couple of hours), Amalfi / Ravello (couple of hours again).

On Capri, we wish to do the cable car and a tour around Capri if weather permits also the Blue Grotto.

Invite suggestions on which excursion to do on which day.

First, I hope you have a wonderful trip. We love Sorrento. We had a driver (Raffaele) who picked us up at our hotel and took us to Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello. (He also took us to the Green Groto, which is on the Amalfi Coast road.) He showed us a lovely restaurant in Ravello. He speaks excellent English and is extremely nice. (http://www.sorrentocardrivers.com/tour_amalfi_coast.html ) You could do this during your full day -- see Sorrento in the afternoon. We didn't have a guide to Capri -- we just went on our own. You could go to Capri on the afternoon you arrive; be sure to ride the chairlift to the very top. We didn't go to the Blue Grotto because it was so crowded (we went in June), but we rode another tour boat to another grotto. Once again, have a good trip.
