sorrento for the first time

Looking to go to Sorrento for two weeks in August this year. Looking at Hotel Aminita but dont know if too far out, whether to go half board or b n b. Also what is the walk from Aminita to middle of Sorrento like ie time it takes and whether ok to walk. Any suggestions would be appreciated.whether half board, b n b , hotels etc. Also how expensive is eating out in Sorrento. Best way to get to Sorrento from Naples airport.

Naples airport bus to Sorrento www.curreriviaggi.it

Personally we prefer B&B arrangements, which gives flexibility for day excursions and to experience local cuisine.

www.aminta.com offer a shuttle bus service between the hotel and central Sorrento, check hotels website.

Google says it takes 26 min to walk from Hotle Aminita to the main shopping district as listed on this google map

https://maps.google.com/maps/ms…

yellow basket on map.

Only you can answer the question is this too far out? I woudn[t stay there myself, but I visit in the winter.

We stayed at a small B&B that is the blue flag on the map

We stayed at Hotel Residence Mirimare which is down the road closer to Sorrento. The walk from Mirimare was about 15 to 20 minutes into the center and it was a nice walk with views over the town. Having said that it is all up hill coming back and Aminita is much further up the steeper part of the hill.

I have to admit we are not the greatest walkers but that 26 minute walk estimate from Google is downhill. I suspect you are going to be looking for a taxi to get back up there.

All I can say that this summer will be our third time in a row going to Sorrento. We stay at the Hotel Tirrenia which is at the end of the main street and quiet. The street is all touristic with good restaurants. The hotel is not very big and the food and accomodation is very good. We will keep going there whenever visiting Sorrento. The side streets are full of shops. You will love it.
