Spending money needed per day in Capri

My wife and I will be staying in Capri for 5 nights at the beginning of October. We would like to eat decent food every day but not at anywhere that is really too fancy as we usually prefer more local food.

What kind of budget is recommended per day for this and what else is there to do there that people would recommend and be able to give an approximation of price for?

We will be staying at VIlla San Felice so if there are any good restaurants there it would be great to hear about them!

Bring it all ! Only kidding....kinda. You can enjoy Capri fairly inexpensively if you enjoy walking and picking up "fast food" from the small mom and pop bakeries & food shops.

Good, inexpensive restaurants are La Savardina, Virginello, Il Grotelle [a bit more expensive & outdoor setting].

If you want to splurge try Da Tonnino for a bit more sophisticated cooking or Da Paolino...a very pleasant "tourist trap" w/ good food and a one of a kind setting in a lemon grove. We order the buffet table of room temperature entries and the dessert buffet. Great fun.

And don't forget to sit at one of the cafes in the piazetta at night, order a drink [limoncello is nice] or a gellato and watch the world go by. {Our spot is Bar Tiberio}.

www.capri.net - for info about what to do

Your guidebook probably includes the admission prices to the sites (be sure it is a current guidebook)

My guess (and, it is only a guess because budgets vary significantly everywhere) would be that it will be about 50-75 euros per day per person but you can easily spend more. Very easily. It really depends on where you choose to eat; menus will be posted so you won't have any unexpected surprises re: your bill.

On the bottom of this page you can have an idea about the prices in Capri

and more prices here:

The cheapest restaurants are "Verginiello" (in Capri) and Pizzeria Aumm Aumm (in Anacapri). Both are very popular by the local. Here you can have a dinner for 20 euro per person (more ore less). I couldn't define Paolino "tourist trap"... It's expensive, but it's so nice and the food is amazing. The local always go there to celebrate something special... Another nice place to have an informal dinner is E' Divino; a wine bar hidden in a little lane. Once was a private home, now you can site on the sofa or on the bed...

For lunch, if you don't want to sit in a restaurant you can just grab something in a "rosticerria" (a take away). A good one is "Capri Pasta" in via Parrocco Canale.
