One night in Naples - 2 50 year old women

I'm very confused about where to spend our 1 night in Naples. The plan is to arrive early afternoon by train and check into our hotel then head to Pompeii for a few hours. Upon our return we want to have a leisurely stroll around (sightseeing not necessary) then have dinner somewhere that is conducive to people watching - nightlife not required as we are 2 50 year old women. Your suggestions on which neighbourhood would best fits our needs are appreciated.

There were some excellent recommendations in your previous thread:

August will be VERY hot and humid, visiting Pompeii in the afternoon will be uncomfortable. Do you have time to visit in the early a.m. the next day? There is a left luggage facility there.

The Piazza Bellini is a very nice pedestrian area and within walking distance to the Archeo Museum that houses quite a bit of the artifacts found in Pompeii, Herculaneum and other areas. The Farnese Statue collection is amazing too.

Hotel Piazza Bellini is quite nice, they offer a taxi service from the train station for 16 Euro. Their website also gives directions from the station.
