Transpotation from Termini area to St. Peter's Square

We are staying at the Hotel Gea near the train station, and have tickets to the Papal Audience and later the Vatican Musuem tour.

What is the best way, other than taxi, to get to St. Peter's Square for the audience?

Thanks!

No 64 bus also goes from Termini We used that a few times and it drops you very close to St Peters square.

hello dtmfcc:

Always the Metro...Look the map of subways, line "A" (orange line), there are 7 (seven)stations, from Termini station to "Cipro", where you must descend to go to the Vatican museums.

Hi

I also used bus No.64.... I guess you can find and other busses just by checking list of there stops (at any bus stop) or by asking driver...

It takes about 15 minutes with all stops to get to St Peter

Generally I found metro not as comfortable due to location of its stations... But fortunatelly St Peter's stop is two steps from St Peter's bus stop so you decide :)

I always take bus 40 myself instead of 64.

You really never know how crowded the bus you get on might get. Wehn you are jammed onot a bus or Mettro Car, you have a better chance of getting pickpocketed. I keep all my credit cards and euros in a m,oney belt under my clothes.

The 64 bus can be very crowded, much more so than metro. Also there are many stops along the bus route so people can get on/off easily. Hence you are much more likely to encounter pickpockets on the bus.
