Unusual things to do in Rome

Does anyone have any ideas on things to do in Rome that aren't in every tour guidebook. This is going to be my second trip and I want to move beyond the Pantheon, Vatican, etc.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Not so much a different thing to see - but a different way to see it. If you are a runner, then the sight jogging tour is neat. You run with a guide who gives commentary along the way. Was the top part of the trip for my husband. He went from Spanish Steps to Vatican and back.

I loved the Jewish Ghetto.

Piramide was another one that was not planned, but really enjoyed.

If you visit the Pyramide, stop by the Protestant cemetary. Very peaceful and interesting monuments/stone structures.

If you have cats at home that you miss, you can get your fix at the cat sanctuary at L'Argo Argentina (spelling?). Lots and lots of cats ... all cute. Bring treats!

Are there any guides specific to the Jewish ghetto? I am very interested in the ghetto and want to get the most out of it!
