rome accomadation

We(2) would like to spend 9-10 days in rome in may 2009. Can you recommend accomadation near the vatican, (with breakfast, own bathroom)? We would like to spend approx 1000 euros, or less of course. Thanks. stuartvictoria

try the mascagni hotel . was perfect. not near vatican but u don't need that. you can easily walk all over rome... and the mascagni has a metro stationjust around the corner!

and for tour operator, try through eternity.. they were the best!!

If walking a short distance is no problem, try the Franklin Hotel (Franklin Feel the Sound). Really good breakfast, and a 10 minute walk (1km) to St. Peter's. My wife and I had a great experience.

hi, just back from rome. would highly recommend the Mascagni hotel. Excellent service, very helpful and friendly staff. Five stops on metro from vatican but you could walk. everything else within waling distance, 5 to 20 minutes. We paid 90 euro per night for 3 nights for two people. booking with the hotel is more expensive though.booking.com were 0ver 100 euro cheaper!Hotel is modern and newly decorated.
