Frascati or Orvieto

We will be in Rome April 24-29. It will be our 3rd trip there, so no need for the mad rush to see the sights. We would like to take a day trip. What of these two are more preferred? We love food and wine! Also, if we went on a Monday would there be problems with restaurants being open?

thanks in advance!

My vote is for you to visit Orvieto...a beautiful hilltop village.

Much more to see and do than in Frascati.

The Duomo alone is worth the trip.

I second that. Orvieto has much to offer. It's little town is charming, the duomo is great and it's easy to reach by train.

Giglio d' Oro is closed on Wednesdays. It is very good and near the Duomo\

I sette Consoli is closed Wednesday and Sunday night.

Osteria San Patrizio is closed on Sunday night and on Monday

La Volpe e l'Uva is closed on Monday and Tuesday

Del Moro is closed on Friday

so something is always open.....

It is a charming place to visit and the Duomo is outstanding!

Very good local wine by the way!!!!
