We stayed with our kids at the Hotel Forum (FAX in Rome:6786479). We all liked it, especially the breakfast on the roof garden overlooking the forum.

We stayed at the Hotel Raphael this summer with our kids and we all enjoyed it. The hotel itself is solid 4 star -- I think Trip Advisor has it as a 3 star, but the amenities and price both definitely are into the 4 star category.

What makes me suggest it is the location. Unless your kids want to watch Sumo Wrestling on TV, you'll want to get them out of the room and enjoying themselves. Our hotel was literally a 45 second walk to the Piazza Navona, which is the liveliest Piazza in the evenings. There are dozens of restaurants, ice cream shops, as well as street performers to keep you entertained. It's a safe area and if you feel like walking 10 minutes you'll be at the Pantheon, which is also another lively area.

Have a great trip.
