Hi everyone,
I will be visiting Rome for 1 day only , I can get transport to St Peter's square from the port for about 40 euros, but I want to go to the Colleseum. Can I walk to it? How far is it? are there metro station near by if walking is not do-able? thanks

I think if you visit 2 sites and use public transprot then it is.
And don't forget, google maps has walking directions too, so you can get a feel for the distances between the sites you want to see. If you also wanted to go by the Trevi Fountain and Pantheon, they are roughly mid-way between the Colosseum and St. Peter's.
Taking the train from the port into Rome will be quicker than a bus. The train station is only 10 minutes from the ships.
