Hotel Capo d'Africa: two questions

I'm about to reserve a room for 3 nights at Capo, after vacillating between it and Westin Excelsior. Two questions, if you will:

1. Anybody have an unpleasant stay there recently? anything I should know that website might not say?

2. I'd love recommendations for a good (not fancy, but excellent food) restaurant for dinner near the hotel. Also a great gelato place for lunch.

Many thanks.

Thank you, MomCat. Yes, I have, but I thought I'd post here as well.

Your hotel is the yeelow sun on this google map

I stayed in the Celio in Mar 2006

one place I liked was the icon with the green fire

Le Naumachie Di Micheli Alfredo

Via Celimontana, 7

great food, especially the meat.

The prices were reasonable I thought

I have stayed there 3 times and love the hotel and the area. We like the larger king rooms for the extra space.

I cannot recommend any restaurants in particular as we usually head elsewhere for drinks and dinner.
