wine tours

Thanks for all of the great info. Does anyone know of a good wine tour around Rome or in Rome that would be worthwhile while on our honeymoon trip. Thanks!!

Last May, four of us arranged for a day trip to Orvieto and Montepulciano through Rome Cabs. Private car/driver took us to two wineries where we had very nice interesting tours, then a tasting. Lots of fun. Rome Cabs has a review site on TA--you can get their website from it, I believe. Wine tours are a little different in Italy than I was used to though--much slower and more invovled.

You can easily visit the Castelli Romani area and visit some places in Frasati, they make fabulous wines. You can also head down to Frosinone and visit some of teh makers of Cesanese del Piglio. You don't have to go to tuscany to taste wine in the Rome area. There are also great wine tours visiting wine bars and tasting wine from all over Italy with a sommelier.

there are also tastings with a sommelier with wines from all over italy at a dedicated location (not from bar to bar) - but of course visiting a winery is a different experience.

Hello! I suggest you go on Nunc est Bibendum tours. The reviews (including mine) can be found here tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g187791-d1…

It was a really enjoyable day! It's a day trip to the Frascati region just outside of Rome. Diego and Alessio are fantastic tour guides and the itinerary is top notch. Buona fortuna!

I'm currently in Rome and have a few spare days to visit some wineries. Will travel anyway in italy for the perfect tour. Has anyone been to an intriguing winery? Perhaps a castle or anything else of interest

Thanks Brian

We've done a wine tour with Romeinlimo. They were awesome. We've taken their tours in several places. Best days ever! You can see their company in the "things to do" section and read through many reviews. You'll love their wine tours. We been to some great vineyards! And the super tuscans... awwwww :)

There is a winery near Rome, in Torreinpietra, that is in the Castle of Torreinpietra. Sometimes we do excursion there with people interesting in wineries, that do not want to spend a long time in a car to visit the more known Tuscan wineries. castelloditorreinpietra.it/cantina/…home.htm
