Would you pay extra for Trastevere?

We need a quad room for 4 nights with 2 teens in August. I found the Best Western Globus on Viale Ippocrate, near University, for 353 euros for 4 niights (nonrefundable). We originally booked Hotel Santa Maria for 540 euros (cash). Is the Trastevere neighborhood worth 187 euros?

Not only is Trastevere worth it by itself, also, just check the map: that Best Western is way off from center and you will spend so much time & money on going back & forth in the summer heat. Go trastevere or any other more central location than that best western...

What Wine_gal said. And 135 Euro per night for a quad is a very good rate.

As stated above, that's a very good rate and you'll love the Hotel Santa Maria. You'll also love Trastevere. It's narrow twisting streets are full of shops, restaurants, etc., and it's easy to walk to most of the sites.

Enjoy.

No contest. We went through a similar quandary a few weeks ago, but our Roman friends said "Trastevere, for sure", and we are glad we took their advice.
