Residenza Giubbonari Review

Lovely two bedroom, two bath apartment near Campo di Fiori, but far enough away not to be bothered by the noise. The double paned windows really work. The windows in the living room do not have the double panes, so if someone is going to sleep there, that might be something to think about. There is air conditioning in every room, washer, dryer, hair dryer. We stayed in the Blue apartment. Never met Cristina, I think she was away, but she was responsive to all email correspondence prior to our arrival. The apartment was well appointed, had everything we needed. No oven, but we used the stove-top and made many meals. Purchased fresh fruits and veggies at the Campo di Fiori market. There is also a grocery store right around the corner. Perfect location for walking to the major sites, or taking a bus. At night, we enjoyed the performance artists in Camp di Fiori.

I absolutely love this apartment building. Cristina is the best so it is too bad you did not meet her. The area is lovely as well. Glad you enjoyed it.

we are thinking of booking the yellow or pink room but concerned about noise. We have a 3 year old - do you think it willl be quiet enough for them to sleep.

My adult daughter and I stayed in the Blue apartment in May, 2010 - right after Cristina put in the double pane windows. I agree - no problems with noise in the bedrooms at all. And she is wonderful to deal with! I think the building is perfectly located and very comfortable. If you have questions about the noise, I would ask Cristina about those particular apartments. I was concerned after reading reviews about the noise in the Blue apartment and that is when she wrote back to me about installing the double pane windows. The Blue apartment is located on the lowest floor of the building and would get the most noise. So, if we had no problems, I think you would be safe in either the yellow or the pink apartments which are much higher up.

Last year I rented the Yellow Apartment for 2 weeks and this year rented the Blue Apartment for a month. Both apartments were well appointed, clean and comfortable. The Blue Apartment does not have an oven, but the microwave is also a toaster, oven which worked well for reheating pizza and other delicious leftovers.

The location can't be beat. Our last day there we walked to the Pantheon, Trevi fountain, Colosseum, Castel St Angelo Piazza Navono and back to Campo di Fiori to say goodbye to Roma. It is also walking distance to the Vatican.

I highly recommend this building and Christina's friendly service and will stay there again when I return to Roma.

We stayed in the Red apartment last April and noticed some noise in the living room but not in the bedrooms. I can't recall off the top of my head where the bedrooms are located in the Yellow and Pink apartments, but I would expect them to be quieter in the back than the front of the apartment. Closing the shutters cut down substantially on the noise.

We loved this building and especially Christina, who went above and beyond expectations in making sure we were comfortable during our week stay. When booking, we requested the Pink penthouse with 3 bedrooms/3 bathrooms, but it was not available until midweek. We arranged (in advance) to stay in the Yellow penthouse for the first 3 days, and then move to the larger penthouse. Upon arrival, we were escorted to our apartment by Christina’s 20 year old son Eduardo, who was a darling, very polite, courteous, and professional. He answered all our questions and provided all the information we needed in orientating us to the building and the neighborhood. As we were a group of 6 adults, we were a bit cramped in the Yellow penthouse, but the Pink penthouse was very spacious and comfortable. Christina (who speaks English perfectly) was always available in the office or by phone to help with any advice we needed. I will add here that my husband and I have traveled extensively in Europe over the years and for the most part, boutique hotels, B&B’s and apartments have very small elevators, if any at all. People should know in advance that these small elevators have a limited weight capacity of only about 450 lbs., therefore, no more than 2 adults with luggage should get into it at the same time. If it is overloaded, it will stall and need to be restarted with a key. On our final night in Rome, we arrived exhausted in the evening after a full day of sightseeing to discover that for some reason we had no hot water for bathing. We contacted Christina at her home and explained that we had a 16 hour travel day ahead of us to return home the next morning, and we all needed to shower. She had been in the office all day and although it was 8:00 p.m. on a Saturday night she came to our rescue. She stated she was at a dinner party, but would be there as soon as she could. She arrived within a short time and the problem was solved. Now that is truly great customer service and professional courtesy! We loved this building, its accommodations, and the location cannot be beat. But more than anything, we walk away with the highest respect for Christina. Thank you, Christina for your wonderful kindness toward us. This property is truly a “gem.”

We stayed at the pink appartment end July 2012. It's lovely! Spacious, quiet, clean, comfortable, cool (in high summer!), convenient for shops and a really good bakers, well appointed and walking distance to everywhere we wanted to see. Beautiful terrace and views over Rome rooftops and churches. Definitely recommended if your budget allows, and you would like the extra space. (Family with teenage children)
