Any one knows the night market in Rome by the river?

I was in Rome a couple of years ago. By accident, we talked to a night market by the river. The night market sells clother, food. There are many restaurants by the river. It was a 20 minutes walk from Vatican City if I remember it correctly. Anyone know the name of the night marekt? I am going back in Rome in 5 days and would love to go there again.

Thanks

Was this during the summer? Then it was Lungo il Tevere, which only runs June through September.

It was in August. There is a huge castle by the night market as well.

That would probably be Castel Sant'Angelo. I didn't know that Lungo il Tevere ran that far north, though.

runs even further north, starts just south of ponte cavour. it is not "on" all thru, though, there are breaks. I also think officially they are two different things - but the mix of bars, cheap stuff etc is exactly the same.

Actually, I realized I was thinking of the Festa di Noiantri, in Trastevere.

so Lungo il Tevere won't be open in October? Is there a similar day or night market in Rome that we can experience local culture, food and some cheap shoppings?

Is the Castel Sant'Angelo worth of visiting? What shall we expect to see there?

There's an open air market in Campo de' Fiori, Monday through Saturday, until about noon.

Castel Sant'Angelo has temporary exhibits, some better than others. Other than that, it has a fantastic view from the roof, where there is also a bar.

I love Castel Sant'Angelo - not just for the beautiful structure that it is but I guess I have been lucky to have enjoyed some really wonderful exhibits there.

Your guidebook will give you some idea what to expect as well as the remarkable historical background on it.

It's generally food *or* cheap shopping. Campo dei Fiori has food (and a little cheap shopping) Monday through Saturday and cheap shopping (and a little food) on Sunday.

For markets of both kinds, look at:
