How early to book hotel?

We will be traveling to Rome in the fall for 4 nights. Want to stay fairly central so we don't have to use transportation too much. My question is how soon should we be booking hotels in this area? I don't want to leave it too long then not get a room. Are there many places to stay near Piazza Navona for under 100 euro/night?

It's not too early to book a room, especially if want something under 100 euros/night near Piazza Navona. There are few such places, and I imagine anything worthwhile (clean, pleasant, etc.) in that price range gets snatched up far in advance.

Good luck.

Fall is high season until mid-October or, more often, early November. Book as soon as you decide, particularly since there are not that many places near Piazza Navona that are under 100 Euro a night in high season.
