Convenience/Dollar Stores in Rome?

I'll be in Rome next month for a few days and was wondering if there are stores there equivilant to our dollar stores or 7-11s in the US? A place to pick up snacks or items we may have forgotten....

Thanks!

Not really, but there are plenty of large and small grocery stores and pharmacies. You should run across many while out and about. Some of the larger stores are Carrefours and Di Per Di. Sometimes it will look very small at the entrance, but they get very large after you get inside.

There are loads of supermarkets and grocery stores (alimentaris) across the city. Supermarkets are a good choice because they are always having sales on everyday items.

Here are a few for you in central locations.

Conad Supermarket on Termini-Lower Level. It is always crowded but handy if you want to pick up few smaller items. Avoid for large grocery shopping.

Carrefour Express on Via del Gesu 58 near the Pantheon

Conad on Via Sebastinano Ziani 12 in the vatican area

and many many more...
