Rome parking - 6 days

Hi there!

We are driving into Rome from Naples and are planning on staying in an apartment from 2 August - 7 August.

We are driving a hire car so security and overnight stays is essential. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with parking for a number of days?

Distance to Rome is not a problem if the parking is safe and affordable.

Thanks!

Don't know where you're staying in Rome. If it's the Spanish Steps area, the most convenient parking for is at (well, under) Villa Borghese (sabait.it/it/…roma-villa-borghese).

That being said, I am assuming you will not be driving within Rome itself -- and that is something I do not recommend. Besides the traffic being very stressful, you need a permit to drive and/or park in parts of the historic center.

You are much better off walking and using public transportation. One question -- instead of paying for parking for several nights, why not return the rental car to the car company (most have a branch at Termini or the airport), then pick it up again when you leave Rome?
