Cheap Eats around hop-on hop-off tour Rome

We are spending two full days in Rome, and plan to get around on the hop-on hop-off bus, while seeing the sites. We are not fussy about authentic food, looking for affordable food, can be restaurants, bistros, even a lunch counter in a supermarket or a place to grab a sandwich, that we can access on the bus route. By affordable, I mean $5 - $10 CAd or US per person . Also, anything around Termini for evenings.

US $5-10 per person, per meal, is very, very low for the Rome historic center. I'd seriously reconsider your budget and have at least one meal outside that budget while you are there.

Look for take away pizza and sandwiches; hit a supermarket for a small water bottle and then refill it in your hotel and at the many nasoni (water fountains). Note that sitting down at most (if not all) Rome cafes and restaurants will incur a service charge, so you should definitely plan on always doing take-away or eating standing up at the counter.

Try the 4 euro pasta lunch at Pastificio near the Spanish Steps -- see our post at https://www.facebook.com/photo.php…

I'm the hop on hop off bus is an expensive and not every effective way to get around. The regular buses would be cheaper, provide more routes and run more frequently.
