Hello from India!!
We are planning for a honeymoon trip to Italy (wishing to cover Rome, Florence & Venice) for 6-10 days maximum during mid-December (starting our journey on 10th December, 2013). Our idea is to spend maximum time together relaxing and enjoying this beautiful place with no plan to rush around like a ping-pong! At the same time, since we are investing time and money for this far-off place, we would also like to cover the maximum possible. :) (We both love to explore and adventurous trips is a common interest for us!)
However, most of the comments on tripadvisor reflect that Italy would be extremely chilly and wet during mid-December. It is kind of driving me apprehensive. Will it possible to travel around the cities without spoiling the fun? I know that days would be shorter but will not like to spend the entire day sitting in the hotel waiting for the rain to stop.
Can someone give me an honest opinion here about the weather, streets, food, sightseeing, travelling in mid-December? If 3 cities is a lot, we are ready to cut-it down to 2 cities - let me know what you have to suggest!
Which area in Rome would be best to put-up to have easy and maximum access to the enjoy the the city?
Your opinion would mean a lot!
Thanks in advance,
