Typical Italian Coffeemaker

Ok this is why I'm posting this question. Rented an apartment and the photos show no coffeemaker but it is listed as having one. After several requests asking what kind of coffeemaker it has, all I'm getting is it's a normal Italian coffeemaker. What is that?

Apartment is in Rome so that is why I'm asking in this forum. Thank you.

Probably a stove top coffee maker.

Google "Bialetti" and you will see several images of what it may look like.

Stove top coffee makers are great, they make great coffee and they come in a range of sizes (sizes are for espresso)

At home we use a 12 cup to obtain 3 cups of American coffee.

Make sure you read instructions on how to use and care for the product.

They look like this

http://tinyurl.com/owmyjq4

Fill the bottom with water to the valve. Put coffee grounds in the basket, screw on the top and set over a flame. The water is forced through the coffee and into the top jug. When it is almost finished you will hear a bubbling noise.

Almost certainly that is the kind. They are small enough that they easily fit in the cabinets; so I wouldn't expect an automatic drip style coffee machine like you find here a lot.

Here's a video of how to use the Moka type of coffee maker.
