Vatican Museums

Hi. I was planning on visiting the Vatican Museum on the 20th of the month and was wondering if it was worth reserving the tickets online if I am going to see the Museum at 13:00? If so, would a American 15 year old be included in the "reduced" price for children between 6 and 18, or is this restricted to EU citizens only? Thanks

I would pre-book tickets or a tour just to avoid the long lines waiting to get in. Here's what the website says about reduced tickets; no mention of EU citizens only.

€ 8,00

Children and young people aged between 6 and 18 years.

Students aged not more than 26 years on presentation of a valid International Student Card, a student identity document or other documentation stating their registration to a university or institution of higher education.

Universities (students aged not more than 26 years on presentation of a letter of application on headed paper of the university institution with the stamp of the institute and signature of the Headmaster of the faculty or the Rector of the university, pointing out the number of students, of the teachers and of the possible companions). The reduced ticket is granted every 10 students to the students, to the teacher or companion; the teacher and companion in excess pay the full fare. Free tickets are not granted. If you buy a reduced ticket without the necessary qualifications or the presentation of a valid student identify card you are required to buy another entrance full ticket. The reduced ticket is not refundable.

Priests and religious (with identify document).

Pilgrimages on presentation of a request letter on headed paper of the Parish or the Diocese of affiliation. A free ticket is granted for the priest companion of the pilgrimage on presentation of the celebret.

Employers of all the offices, ministries and organisms of the Holy See or of the Vatican City State and retired people of the same and their relatives (consorts, children, parents, brothers, sisters) on simple identification.
