Metro/Bus passes - Worth getting for us?

We are taking our first trip to Rome for 5 days in September. We like to walk, however, unsure of the size of Rome, I am trying to decide if we should get the metro/bus passes. I have a few events lined up, and also many checks on our map for best shopping/gelato/bars/, etc.We want to do it all!

We are staying in Trastevere near Santa Maria, so we are not exactly centrally located.

Any opinions?

You 'll probably want to take a bus to and from the area everyday. Unless you plan on at least 4 trips a day on the bus or metro you won't need a pass. Just buy tickets as you need them and save money.
