Best way to see Rome at night

It's our last night in Rome and we would like to see the sights at night, particularly Colloseum and St. Peter's. Can you please recommend the best way to do it? Thank you.

Rick Steves' Rome guidebook has a tour called "Night Walk across Rome" that goes from Campo di Fiori to the Spanish Steps. While it does not include the Colosseum or St. Peter's, we enjoyed doing this informative self-guided tour on our recent visit to Rome. (If you don't have that guidebook, perhaps you could find it at your local library and copy the pages with that tour.)

To add the Collosseum and St. Peter's to this tour, you could easily take the Metro or walk.
