Ice skating? Next week?

I have heard a lot about outdoor ice skating rinks in Rome during Christmas time. My husband will be there next week and would love to do this, but I'm having a difficult time finding info. Does anyone know if this is open yet and where?

This indicates that it is set up in the center of Rome around Christmas though they don't offer dates; it also has info on sites out of the center of the city:

Ice Skating

At Christmas, Rome's municipal government sets up alternative ice-skating rinks in the heart of Rome. At other times you’ll need to travel to Rome's city limits and beyond. Palaghiaccio Di Marino is an enormous oblong structure with an Olympic size rink (30 x 60 metres) located 4 kilometres from Ciampino Airport. Off season, the facility undergoes various transformations, functioning as a concert hall, sports arena, theatre or cinema.

Palaghiaccio di Marino, Via Appia km19 , Marino tel 06 935 474 12.

Busline FF.SS Roma – Albano/Velletri to S. Maria delle Mole stop.

Monday – Thursday, 5 – 6:30 pm; Friday 5 – 6:30 pm and 9 pm – 12:30 am.

€6 – 8 includes rental fee for skates. Lessons are available

There's a permanent ice skating facility located (relatively) near the historical centre, the "Axel", on piazza Antonio Mancini... to reach it, you should take tram line #2 at piazzale Flaminio (right outside piazza del Popolo) and ride it to the other terminus at piazza Mancini. It won't be along ride, though.
