Examine the above link. This is your best bet. Buy bus tickets (E1.50 for 100 minutes) and use them as hop on hop off buses. This is the only way to see the sights of Rome.

The problem with bus tours in Rome is that the large buses cannot get near to the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain and a number of other sights because the streets are too narrow. The little electric buses (as linked in reply #1) are the answer. They use ordinary Rome public transport tickets.

Is there a day pass for the electric buses apart from the E1.50/100 mins ticket?

No. Since they're operated by ATAC, you have to ride them with ordinary bus tickets... or you can buy an ATAC daily/3-day/weekly pass.

The daily bus pass, 6 euros, would serve the same purpose and also give you access to the metro and other buses and trams.

On the map shown in link 1, there is an inset at lower left, showing a dotted line. This part of the route is skipped on Sundays and holidays, starting at 3 PM the day before, because of street closings.

Many thanks for the responses to my queries.

As our group range from 68 to 89 years of age our options are somewhat reduced but we are going to have the daily bus pass and see how it goes.

Agai,n great to receive your assistance.

regards

Steve
