crowds during Friday evening Vatican museum hours?

I see the Vatican website shows the museums open from 7p - 11p on Friday evenings during the summer starting in May. Has anyone on this forum gone to the museums during those hours in the past? How are the crowds, specifically in the Sistine chapel on those evenings? We plan to be there the last Friday of May. Thanks!

and an add-on question that I forgot: does anyone know if they offer the full range of guided tours (or any guided tours) during the summer Friday evening hours?

The crowds are very low. We shared the chapel with about 50 others for about 45 minutes in July. It was great. They offer the basic tour but not the ones that include the basilica because it closes at 7.

Actually, from April through September, the Basilica closes at 19:00 (7 PM). The rest of the year is closes at 18:30. This means that it's fairly convenient to visit the Basilica before going to the Museums for the Friday evening tour. It's also the best time of day (other than very early morning) to avoid a long security line at the Basilica. Allow 20 minutes to walk from the Basilica to the Museums, and to get inside and find your tour.

Is entrance free for St. Peter's Basilica if I want to visit it before a night tour? And Castel Sant'Angelo?

The crowds were very low when we visited last year. If i remember correctly, St. Peter's is always free.
