Hi Donna,

We had a hotel booked that we got brilliant deal for bed and breakfast €139 staying at hotel impero rome which was termini station area, but got email to say it was cancelled so looking for similar area we go Tue 18th Feb till Fri 21st.

hello, i have stayed there and didnt like the feel of that area, a bit scary. I loved the vatican to castel sant'angelo and piazzo navona and trevi fountain areas

I have seen good reviews on this hotel, and recommended by Rick Steeves as well.

There is nothing wrong with the termini area. Its a safe area with lots of great transportation connections, restaurants and shopping. Its not as charming as the city center but it certainly isnt dangerous.

I agree with what Donna says about Termini. It's not dangerous, just not particularly charming. Go to Google Maps Streetview to see what I mean.

We prefer the Campo de' Fioi and Trastevere neighborhoods. That said, another economical choice not far from Termini is The Beehive.
