Food suggestion in Rome

Hi i am visiting Rome next week for 4 days. Can anyone suggest me with cheap places for breakfast and meals. I am planning to look at resonable places for few meals and having one meal a day at little higher/ok prized restaurant.

How can i save on food and drinking water cost there ? Any recommended places to eat ?

Also some food places that ideally should not be missed

We usually have that meal at home - the only places where you can find something for breakfast are your hotel and the various cafés (which sell coffee, juices and some pastries) scattered all over the city.

Also, only touristy (or posh) cafés will charge you more for sitting down.

Unfortunately, most tourists in Rome will never see a bar that doesn't charge you to sit at a table. I did see one once near Campo de'Fiori, but that's the only one I've ever seen in the most touristy area.

If you see newspapers on the tables, and no tablecloths, there's a good chance you can sit without paying extra.
