Rome Hotels

Looking for a 3/4 star hotel in center city location fo my daughter, two granddaughters and me for June 2015. I visited Rome 25 years ago and stayed near the Spanish Steps, La Residenzia Hotel. Nice hotel but very dark rooms. Looking for two rooms or a large famiy suite Also can't decide what neighborhood would be most desirable for two 17 year old girls who might want to get away from their elders for a bit.

Thanks for any input. I have Hotel Campo Dei Fiori bookmarked but would also like a few other options. Also any info on Hotel Rome Times?

I always stay at Hotel Campo de'Fiori when staying in a hotel; it is lovely and the roof deck is just a stunner - a great place to wind down, etc.

The girls would probably love that area - for the square and a few of the shopping streets nearby which have very affordable clothing, etc.

It is also 5 minutes from Piazza Navona and about 8 to 10 minutes across the river to Trastevere.

The hotel star system is not the same as in the states and connotes amenities, not quality. If you have a budget range you can share, that would help people offer you suggestions.

We always stay at the Hotel Quirinale on Via Nazionale. Near the Piazza Republica. Near a metro station. FAr enough from Termini, but close enough. Also has a bus stop in front of it....Great hotel. Love it....

thnks so much for both replys. I have put the budget question to my daughter but I think we would have to pay at least 250 to 350 US for each room to get what they want. Apartments look like better value, but I thought a hotel might provide more socialibility than an aprtment. My husband and I have rented several times in London and Paris but do not know the apartment scene in Rome. I saw a beautiful one in the Navona, vrbo # 404891 which would be less money than a hotel and very spacious and attractive. Would cdrertainly look at other options there, I will check out the Quirinal as well. I vaguey remember seeing the exterior on our trip there so long ago.
